Verde has invested approximately C$30 million in technological research and innovation of potassium fertilizers in Brazil. In 2008, geological surveys were initiated through mineralogical studies. More than 40,000 meters of drilling was completed, defining a mineral deposit large enough to enable Brazil to become self-sufficient in potash.

Technological processes have been developed in partnership with Dr. Derek Fray of the Department of Materials and Metallurgy, University of Cambridge (UK). Dr. Fray is also a member of Verde’s advisory board.
