An experiment was conducted by EPAMIG to assess the efficiency of Super Greensand on coffee yields. The control group received zero potassium, whereas the treatment group received potassium from Super Greensand. The Super Greensand treated area exhibited high levels of foliar nutrients: N, K, S, Cu, B, Fe, Mn and Zn.

In January 2013, 50 pairs of leaves were collected from the treated areas of each plot (counting every 3rd or 4th pair from the tip of the branch to its base).

A study was conducted by the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), to evaluate the agronomic efficiency of Super Greensand on millet. The control group received zero potassium, whereas the treatment group received potassium, from Super Greensand. In order to evaluate the residual effect of potassium, millet was planted in two consecutive cycles. Super Greensand was only applied in the first cycle.

In the first cycle, Super Greensand increased the concentration of Ca, Mg and Si in the aerial parts of the millet. In the second cycle, in which Super Greensand was not reapplied, the concentration of all nutrients increased, with the exception of magnesium.
